Gay Bowl XII – the annual gay flag-football national championship tournament – is coming to the Mile High City for the first time September 21-23, 2012! It is expected to be the largest Gay Bowl to date, drawing as many as 40 teams with as many as 600 players (and their many supporters) from across the U.S. and Canada, and featuring the tournament’s first ever women’s division! Gay Bowl XII will honor the success that has been experienced by the Denver Gay & Lesbian Flag Football League (DGLFFL). Denver won the right to host the Gay Bowl in part because, since it’s founding in 2008, the DGLFFL has become one of the largest gay flag football leagues in North America – 16 teams and 240 people strong – and, importantly, the only one that is fully and almost evenly co-ed on the field.
